Flyers Going as Carter Goes

Coming off the Flyers recent 10-game losing streak, and getting hit with injuries plus Danny Briere’s arctic-like cold streak, and amid coaching rumors, the Flyers have been searching for other players to step up. Enter Jeff Carter.
Very quietly, Jeff Carter has begun to show signs that he might be a dominant force in the league. […]

Hey, how you doin’? Part 1

A total of 24 trades went down on Tuesday, the fourth most active trade deadline in NHL history.
Here are a few updates on Steve Bernier and Marian Hossa; will follow with Cristobal Huet and Brian Campbell tomorrow, then with Brad Richards and Adam Foote.

Conditional Picks from Trade Deadline

Conditional draft picks are usually hard to figure out, especially since no one ever manages to find out what it is until later.

Can’t win them all.

After a dismal first 25 minutes the Canes had a huge hold to climb themselves out of. I am going to try something new with how I type this up…

Short, but sweet?

Suddenly things don’t look so good in Pittsburgh. Not only did Ty Conklin look like the goalie of old, getting pulled after letting in three goals on 13 shots, but they lost their new star winger, Marian Hossa, to a MCL sprain.

Two More Points

Well, my post-Montreal collapse predictions weren’t so crazy after all eh? The Rangers are 3-0 since their OTL in Montreal, and to my credit I predicted 3 wins, but only the 5-0 win over Florida at the Garden counts as a “spanking.”

100 Posts, FOOLS!

And you can give THAT an E5, Eklund!
We’re literally doing backflips here, and by we’re I mean the Atlanta Thrashers. Man, they ripped off Pittsburgh.

Not so Fast

For everyone expecting an immediate change in the Senators last night, it looks like we were short a miracle. After the loss to the Flyers in Philadelphia, the Sens Army is back on full panic mode. Step away from the panic button, it’s not over yet!

After the firing of John Paddock, Ottawa had become pretty optimistic about […]

Richards fitting right in

Just some quick thoughts as I’m watching the Blackhawks vs. Stars game right now.
Brad Richards is very noticeable out there tonight. His passes are crisp and are right on the tape. So far (in the 2nd period) he has two assists on two good plays. Actually, Richards just assisted on another great play for […]

How Swede It Is. . .

OK– that’s old, still.
The Rangers two newest players, who just happen to be Swedish, will be making their Ranger debuts tonight. Each playing at the end of the lineup (Sjostrom playing right side with Betts and Hollweg, and Backman playing on the right side with Staal).. all the other lines remain intact.
I expect both of […]
