Brad Stuart to Red Wings
A few minutes after the trading deadline had passed, Detroit Red Wings fans were left anxiously waiting for news of any kind. It came in the form of Brad Stuart from the Los Angeles Kings, in return for a 2nd and 4th round pick.
With Lidstrom, Rafalski, Kronwall and Chelios all out with injuries right now, defensive depth was high on Detroit’s priority list.
Stuart’s offensive game could reach new levels in Detroit’s system, where defensemen often experience career years. He also adds some needed grit to the defensive game, which will help in the playoff stretch.
Stuart has recorded 8 points in his last 10 games with the Kings.
