Can’t win them all.
After a dismal first 25 minutes the Canes had a huge hold to climb themselves out of. I am going to try something new with how I type this up…
Frank Kaberle - This is the 2nd time in a short span I have watching him sit there and look at a loose puck and do nothing that ends up in the back of the net. Not only does he not deserve his $2.2Mil, but at this point he does not deserve to be playing in the NHL. These glaring mistakes are something I would expect from the call-ups we have seen this year not a guy who won the Cup with us in 2006.
Cole - His hard work paid off with him getting 2 goals for us last night
Patrick Eaves - Got his first point as a Hurricane and I was highly impressed with his physicality and speed last night. Not sure why he played less than 7 minutes though.
Sean Avery - The biggest waste of talent ever. All night he was running his mouth to our guys and finally when Scott Walker dropped his gloves and went after him, Avery runs away. I have no problems with agitators, but I like them to follow through on it…even when he doesn’t have Orr there to protect him. And then I hear from another Canes fan that Avery ran his mouth to him when they saw eachother outside of the arena. How lame is that?
The Canes didn’t play great, but they could have won the game if a bounce or two had gone their way. Ward was playing well enough that they had a chance to tie it but you can’t win them all I suppose. It was the first home loss for the team in February.
An aside here since I am now following the Hawks so I can follow Andrew Ladd…he scored his first goal last night with the team. He netted a beauty behind Marty Turco in the 7-4 Hawks loss last night.

Not to start a fight but……
We had a 3-0 lead when Walker went at Avery. He did what was smart and NOT fight. Plus it was after the play, thats just asking for it.
And he did get one by Ward I believe….
I’m happy for Eaves, he was a favourite of mine here in Ottawa. If he can get over the injuries, you’ll love him there. He plays bigger than his body, and loves to hit and crash the crease.
Ummm if Avery didn’t want to fight he shouldn’t act like such an idiot the entire game. I really doubt everyone was just picking on him…I mean this IS Sean Avery we are talking about.
And Volchossa, I agree…Patty plays like he is 6′4 not like he is 5′11. I can tell he will quickly become a favorite of mine along with Corvo. I am so happy we got them both.
It’s his job to get people off his game, thats part of the reason we pay him.
The other part is when other teams are too worried about his mouth he gets the puck and buries it. 6 goals in 7 games.
I don’t like Avery at all, but he’s great at what he does, he may be one of the best annoying energy scoring players ever.
This just in: Avery called some Canes fan “numb nuts” after the game yesterday…real classy guy that Avery is. No doubt that the fan was running their mouth, but you would think he is more professional than that.
If you are going to be an idiot then you should put your money where your mouth is.
Katy look I know Avery isnt likeable if he isn’t on your own team but you keep contradicting yourself. I’m not going to dispute what he said to the fan but instead dispute what you said.
He has put his money where is mouth is. He has 8 points in 7 games, 6 goals. And he’s fought in 3 of the past 5. IDK what you want from him besides for him to shut up, which isn’t gonna happen.
I am talking about him running away when someone finally is fed up enough to drop. It’s a moot point though…no use in arguing it. : )
They both got 10 minutes for talking to each other, when they got out, Avery wasn’t looking to fight, he was just trying to get him to drop the gloves so Avery can get a powerplay for his team, and since the reffing sucked, we didn’t get one…
