“I should’ve thrown Emery off the ice”

Senators ex-coach John Paddock had some very revealing comments today on the man everybody has heard about too many times this season.

You guessed it, the man with the chic wardrobe and a polluting Hummer: Ray Emery.

The man with a 3.05 goals against average, a $3.5 million salary, a big mouth and a man with willingness to fling water bottles into the stands during practice, fight with teammates and even better: a man that doesn’t bother to show up to all his practices.

As you can probably tell by the tone I’m using, I do not like Ray Emery in the least.
In fact, he’s trash.

He’s a pro athlete, getting a big paycheck to perform in a hockey crazy city with hockey crazy fans, but what does he do?

HE DOESN’T CARE; I don’t think everyone has understood that yet.

He should be ASHAMED of himself; he’s done nothing but ruin his team’s chemistry in the dressing room and on the ice, not to mention his occasional bitchy moaning sessions with the media.

He’s a PRO ATHLETE.

He’s getting paid like one, he’s getting treated like one, time for him to start ACTING like one.

I know there hasn’t been any incidents to speak of for this dirtbag, but hey, you can’t just forget his ways this season.

I don’t know if any Senators fan can disagree with what I just said: he needs to grow up, get his head back where it belongs, on his head, not up his you know what, and focus on playing well rather than creating televison’s next soap opera.

And I couldn’t agree with John Paddock more, as quoted in the Ottawa Citizen.

Wait! Hold the phone, Ray Emery aplogizes to his ex-coach for his moronic actions:

“After Paddock was fired on Wednesday in Philadelphia, Emery visited Paddock in his room and expressed deep regret for his behaviour. Paddock wouldn’t go into the details of that conversation.”

That is a surprise, but doesn’t cut it for me, he should’ve never had that kind of behaviour to start with, and asking for an apology now that the man is fired is beyond unbelievable for me.

He should’ve aplogized to his teammates, WHILE, while John Paddock was still coaching, he should’ve made a statement telling everyone how “deeply he regrets his actions”, at least then you could learn to forgive him just a tiny bit.

Current coach Bryan Murray refuses to name a #1 and won’t speak to the media about the goaltending situation from now on, and good for him; seeing Ray Emery’s infamous highlights every now and then on SportsCentre was getting tiring.
