A night of 2s. The Canes rack up 2 more points that bring us one game closer to the playoffs. 2 Canes goals in each period…both of the 3rd period goals by our All-Star MVP Eric Staal. 2 missed chances for Eaves (at least)

Oh and two goals that were led to by the stupidity of the refs. First one being where the ref got in the way of Gleason and so the puck was easily taken off of Tim’s stick and led to a 1 on 0 with Ward. The 2nd…well…it started with Moose trying to cover the puck and get a whistle when the refs kept telling him to put it out into play. He did eventually and about 20 seconds later Staal puts it up in front of the net and it bounces off of Exelby into the net. A really bad call for the Thrashers to say the least, but I can’t say I feel bad.

The Canes rarely get the calls going their way so when things start going well for us, especially when we face nearly 300 man games lost this season I am just happy we are doing as well as we are. 7-2-1 in our last 10, I am not complaining.

Washington is on our heels so we need to keep this up. Tomorrow we play the Minnesota Wild so hopefully we can use this momentum through our fatigue of the 2nd game of the back to backs!

EDIT: I still LOVE Corvo here with us. I am beyond happy we got him and he has made me nearly forget about that guy…you know…the one with the red hair? Oh yeah, Commdore! : )
