“ok im a huge devils fan and of course i hate the ny rangers. But im sure all of you baseball fans remeber when shelly duncan signed a kids baseball sayin “red sox suck”. well i ran into pretty much the same thing. i friend of mine met Sean Avery through a steiner sports store in long island last week and he got a 16×20 signed by avery but he wrote ” Marty is a whinner” on the photo. please someone emial me and i will send you photo bc i dont know how to upload from my camera fone to comp. Now this is a great player but what a a-hole. the kid that got this photo signed was 13 years old. “

Well, if this really was Avery who did this, good for him. I think 13 is a prefect age for a kid to learn about the truth. There was no profanity, and nothing in that statement is untrue. As I’ve written here before, Marty is great, possibly the best ever, but he sure does whine and complain and make excuses for everything.
Please tell me examples of where Marty has whined. I’m not a Devils fan here. i just never hear any of this whiner stuff unless it comes from a Rangers fan. He does not have a reputation as a whiner at all. Avery loves to say he is a whiner, but lets face it, thats a pretty horrendous source. Avery is a shmuck

Devil fans feel the need to stir up trouble because there is absolutely 0 buzz about their team. i was notified by dwrighthe savior that this thing blew up on this board. the inscription was going to be one of the three 1- marty is a whiner 2- canada sucks or 3- sean avery client #16. first of all if a devil fan saw him in the street they would do absolutely nothing to him.

why does everything in sports have to be so serious. it was a joke and people are acting like hes an animal. Chris Simon hits people in the face with sticks and steps on them and people seem to forget but if some screens a goalie improperly its a crime
I was with Matt at the singing and I thought it was great that Avery signed it with that inscription. Avery plays hard and gets under the other teams skin there is nothing wrong with that at all. In my Book Avery is a God Could you ask for any thing more from a player on your team. So let’s get real people and just let it be known to all the Avery haters you would love to have him on your team.
The real question is, Devil Fans, what does Marty not whine about. Maybe “Marty’s a flopper” would have been more appropriate especially after he made Jaramir Jagr look like Marty Mcsorley the other day when he drove through the crease.
