To sound like a really old school fan, “Nashville”?!? Come on…does water ever freeze in Nashville?
Neil, you’re insane. Detroit is cocky and conceited? Are you commenting on the fans, the players or both? Detroit’s fans are some of the best in the NHL. I felt like I was at a football game in Lincoln, Nebraska. As for the players, I haven’t seen anything out of the ordinary, or that a person wouldn’t see on any other bench in hockey.
Contempt in sports is the most sincere form of flattery.
Neil… I’m a Sharks fan and well, need I say more? 4-1 two years in a row? I’m amazed the wings didn’t sweep this series, but they didn’t show up for a game or two. Much like the SHarks are choking right now and sending it to game 7.
Cocky and conceited? I don’t recall ever hearing a “you suck” chant from the Joe. The entire Red Wing organization, including their fans, is among the best in professional sports. It’s natural to hate number one, but keep your hate in the know.
Cocky and conceited?
I think lady byng would beg to differ.
95% of people outside Detroit who say they like the Wings are freakin stupid bandwagon fans. . . Where do they all run to when Detroit isn’t in the Finals? You guys got pushed by a crappy Trashville team and nearly lost a game when they were without Arnott and Legwand. . . Detroit isn’t superhuman. . . They can just as easily lose to anyone in this years playoff crop.
I will agree with Tyler, that the Wings organization is one of the best that has ever been involved with Professional Hockey. They put some amazingly talented teams on the ice, and do a wonderful job with recruiting. True Red Wings fans are some of the best fans on the planet, and I’m a Dallas Stars fan. . .
I find this goal to be a bit of a freak coincidence if you ask me.
I’m sure I was just as surprised as any Nashville fan,
But don’t get me wrong, Ellis is frustratingly talented.
I’m a Detroit fan myself. Born and raised just outside the city,
And I don’t know if you’ll ever truly experience the community feeling the Wings bring to Detroit.
And I don’t feel that any of the players are cocky either (well, maybe some I’ll give you that)
But remember the lockout? Yzerman was ready and willing to give up part of his salary to make a great team.
A lot of players were….
We’re proud here in Detroit, we play for the hockey.
If that’s conceited, then sure, we’re conceited.
I don’t think I can say anything more than what’s already been said. Wings organization is amazing. I’ve skated the ice of the Joe and hung around with the coaches and trainers, and changed in the locker rooms and all… I’m proud to be from Detroit. I don’t know where cocky and conceited comes from, just the blind hate. Oh well, maybe his team will make it next year. As for Detroit this year… here’s to hopin.
Bummer, I was so hoping that the Predators were going to do it. I really hate how conceited and cocky that Detroit is.
me too, but hey, it wasn’t gonna happen.
The Wings are just better
Don’t be haters…You can’t keep the wings down.

So who’s next for the WIngs?

sounds like another goaltender by the name of dan, who let in a similar goal, form the same spot, against the same player……………
