Radivojevic and Patzold to Russia
Minnesota Wild forward Branko Radivojevic has signed a 2-year contract with Spartak of the Russian Premiere League while Sharks goalie Dmitri Patzold, who played catch up to Evgeni Nabokov last season, agreed to terms on a deal with Vityaz Podlosk Checkov.
Radivojevic, who posted 7 goals and 10 assists in 73 contests with the Wild, is recovering from offseason knee surgery that is expected to keep him out of “action” for 4-6 more months. On the other hand, Patzold played a total of 44 minutes in 3 games of mop-up work in San Jose this season, tallying a 5.51 goals against average and a .800 save percentage.
The only player of note here is Branko, who’s a solid two-way checking liner and was set to become an unrestricted free-agent on July 1st.
He admittted to playing with a torn ACL in Game 2 of the Western Conference quarters against the Avs.
Yes it has been rather slow these past few days,
